One of nine wings of the World Birding Center, Quinta Mazatlan is a 1930s adobe estate on 15 acres, dedicated to providing a sanctuary for eco-tourism and environmental education. The site is located south of town, between the McAllen Country Club and McAllen International Airport, and hosts educational programs for children and adults in addition to nature tours. Numerous trails wind through the estate's land, where visitors can see a wide range of birds in their native habitat.
